Hi,
I am looking for a way to draw on PDFs attached to references in Mendeley, and pass those annotations to an Android phone or tablet through the sync feature. After a little trial and error, I came to this conclusion, which I am hoping someone can clarify.
If I open Mendeley, open a reference, and open the attached PDF in a different PDF viewer (Acrobat, etc.), I can then highlight, add comments, draw on the PDF, etc. When I save the PDF (which I can't do when Mendeley is open), and reopen Mendeley, I can see these notes in the Mendeley PDF viewer. However, when I sync my library and then download that article on my Android phone or tablet, none of the annotations I made with Acrobat appear either in the Mendeley app, or when I open the PDF in a different program on my Android. Why is this? I really want to be able to take handwritten notes on my PDFs and sync them between my devices.
Best,
Bryan
